Default Whats the best viscosity of MobilOne oil to use in the summer?

Would Mobil 1 Racing 0W-30 Oil for High Performance Engines be a good choice for a chipped 1.8Ts?

0w-40 is the one that meets the specs and is just fine for summer. 5k mile changes.

Default If I could find Mobil 1 10w-40 EP I'd be ALL OVER IT.*15,000 Mile Performance Guarantee* I run 5w-40

Most 30 weights are quite thin. Now Mobil 1 EP 30 weights are a bit thicker. 10w-30 EP would be ok. 5w-40 SUV oil is another formula, not SuperSyn PAO, but an ester based formulation. I'm actually doing 2 shorter OCIs of it this summer for desludging, the esters work way beter than PAO which has solubility issues. In a turbo, it's good in summer and winter.

In a turbo, it shears out-of-grade to a 30 weight, not exactly best in summer.

Not at the recommended 5K changes it wont. Holds up at least as well as GC 30 weight.

Then just wait for oxidative thickening. He asked for "best"not"lamest" ;0) It shears below GC, btw.

Default Shows M1 did not shear below GC at all...

Default It sheared *more* & started w/ the same HT/HS visc. Where do you think HT/HS is at after shear?

I had much less iron wear than this after 9500 miles of running the Amsoil 10w-30....(TT225)

With a 30 weight.
