What's the difference between WHP and BHP?

BHP is a unit that is frequently misused. There is a subtlety to it's measure I don't quite grasp as yet.

it's higher than wheel horsepower because of drivetrain loss
bhp is meant to measure the hp a car is producing with all its equipment (a/c, water pump, steering pump, exhaust, etc)
prior to 1971, us manufacturers used SAE gross horsepower to measure hp, this is higher than bhp because the engine is only burdened with what it needs to run, water pump, etc.<ul><li><a href="http://neptune.spacebears.com/opine/horsepwr.html">info</a></li></ul>
