Default Whee! Just got my 18" SSR comps and Koni suspension in..

The SSRs are 16.5 lbs, 10.5lbs lighter than the stock 17" sport package wheels.

I got Yoko ES100s to go with. These seem comprable to the Dunlop 9090 that came on my sport wheels, though they wander a bit more and bite a bit quicker.

The whole package is nice and seems to accelerate more readily, but that could be mod-vision (you know, every mod you do makes you think you are faster..)

The Tire Rack sent some of the wrong lugs, but they were very good about overnighting (Saturday delivery) the correct lugs to me. They also didn't match mount all my tires, but that was a minor irritation.

The centercaps are on back order, which is why they are not in the pics. The centers are ugly anyway, so I might make my own (I have a little machine shop in my basement)

Chris H. from the boards here came down and traded me his 16" all seasons for my sports wheels, so the link is our two cars...

PS, how the heck do you get more than one pic in the message? (No, I haven't done a search on the topic yet, so spare me)

http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/45523/dscn0355_medium.jpg</a

You should paint your lowers.

Umm.. Notice the front and back?

The bodyshop wouldn't do the middle parts.

Because the sides are both bolted and double sided taped, either the parts will likely get damaged, or the paint underneath. Neither is a good risk, and painting them on the car is just asking for a host of problems (I've painted a dozen or so cars, so I'm not going to let somebody do that!)..

I want the rest painted, but maybe in time, I'll take the plunge and take the stuff off.
The body shop actually matched the lower rear better to the body that the factory did on the upper part.. Makes it look a little wierd. I'd recommend having the whole rear bumper painted, not just the lower since the factory match sucks, and shops now have cool spectrometers to get exact matches.

Default Yes , I had noticed, maybe you should get the Caractere side skirts to compliment the front....

and the rear. Are you involved with the SCCA?

Thanks ...

Yep, thats the 'Dave Cave' as a co-worker calls it... Going to add a courtyard in the front and a castle like 3 story tower in the rear in the next few years...

Hey, Stop posting pictures of my Kid!!! - Just kidding, I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter.

It would be pretty amazing if you house matched mine considering about 40% of it was designed by me..
