Default Wheel fitment

Hello,

Will a TT (supposedly) wheel fit on my B6 A4 (non sport)? It's avertised 5x112, 47mm offset, Rim Width 8J, and for a TT. Current ebay item number is 200312239906. Tire size is fine P6 P235 45 17. My current rim with is 7.5J and 45 offset (5 spoke OEM). I know the 8 vs. 7.5 will let put a wider P245 tire on it. Will the offset of 47 vs. 45 (mine) be a problem.

I did a cut-and-paste and love these on my Silver A4.

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Later Mk2 TT's use the proper bolt pattern, however not the proper offset.
You could use these wheels, however you'll need spacers to fit them properly.

Ordinarily you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 45mm offset and a 47 mm offset. That's only 2 mm difference! But because the wheel is another half an inch wider, that's another 12 mm that you weren't expecting. And it sits further under the car.

Still, the back of the wheel's only out of place by 1/2 an inch.

So would you use a 10 mm spacer or a 15 mm spacer to bring it out a bit? What spacer would you suggest to have these fit properly?

Default Fitment

I don't want to use spacers, so I'll stay within my limits.

What's wrong with spacers? As long as they are hubcentric and you have longer bolts, you will have ZERO issues. It's how I got my A6 BBS RC's (17x7.5 et45 to go on my passat (stock et35).

For daily driving, spacers aren't a deal breaker. I used 1" H&Rs on my old Mustang with zero issues. Using longer bolts, no big deal.

Where there are issues- when someone uses a big spacers and gets about 3-4 threads of the bolt. That's a disaster waiting to unfold.
