Default I considered Fikse... but didn't care for the stepped lip they have.

and the designs were didn't fit my tastes. But they are very high quality from what I heard.

Default What?!? Never liked HRE?!? That's wheel blasphemy ;)

I understand though. I was not much into multi-spokes, split spoke wheels. I came around though. When you see them in person, you'll be addicted. There were some other contenders, but nothing really came close.

Default A4...Not yet, won't hit 10K for another 3,000 miles, but I appreciate all the info you provide dude!

I'll let you know once I've visited and/or tried some of your recommendations. I'm thinking of changing oil at 7,500. When did you do your first oil change?

Props again to you!

Default I picked up some of the Luster Seal by LusterLace...

I thought I'd give that a try. I think this stuff, or Rejex, or Klasse AIO & SG will work great and last. The Zoop Seal was obviously the best. But more invloved and expensive ($129!). But for 2-3 years of protection, it was very tempting. Only meant for aluminum though (raw or polished).

The Luster Seal works on all the surfaces of my wheel - which is nice. I'll do it on the polished lip and inside rim. On the brushed centers, I'll treat that like car paint/clear coat and use Zymol HD Cleanse and Concours wax. Might also use Klasse SG for inner rim since it last pretty long.

Default I waited until the 10K service.....

If I had to do it over again,.. I would have opted to change at somewhere from 5000-7500. It would depend on the year of the car and break-in period. Mine was broken in around 6500 miles. I don't think Audi is breaking them in still, so they rely on the oil to break down and the mileage. If they put synth in now, that would mean that break-in would take longer (since synth protects better). But I still think around that mileage should be fine. Most of the concern is from poeple putting synth in too early (that can cause more oil consumption, since the rings may not be seated). I try not to think about it too much because there are so many opinions. One point is; you should notice an improvement with MPG when it is finishing break-in.

Thinking of Motul or FUCHS? That would be nice. The dealer used to sell it. I tried to get my Service Mng to carry it and he told me of that. He said there was no demand. I spoke with Motul about my dealer and they're going to visit them again to remind them. Who knows.

Default I'll manage. It'll just take a couple times to figure out the best approach...

I know all about the way it will pick up stuff; I have had Lowenhart LD1's. I know about the rock tumbler effect too

And I keep my wheels clean constantly. Wiping them down in between washings. Beleive me, I'm Mr. Maticulous Detailer. I'll go a little mad at first, and then calm down.

Default It was the wheels that prompted my urgency for a brake upgrade (performance, looks and less dust).

I think I'll just frame them and put on the wall
