That seems to be really high. How about in years? Would the water pump fail before the TB? Thanks.

Default That is the official recommended TB replacement recommendation by AoA....

The recommended mileage was reduced to 75,000 miles, by AoA, for M.Y. 2004>, and should be considered applicable for M.Y.<2004 also.

105k miles is too long to run the TB and associated parts before replacement.

Default Partly disagree the TB can often last well past 100k but the associated parts usually require replac

ement far in advance. I would challenge Audi to make longer lasting/reliable parts like their Japanese counterparts are doing....most Japanese cars out of the factory are now only requiring oil changes until 100k for a tune up.

Seems reasonable consider how much money they are making from us.

Default I know of at least 1 case where the t-belt/water pump (not sure which) broke at less than 100K...

KILOMETRES (less than 60K miles). The poor guy needs a new engine. I'm not sure how the car was maintained and driven. I think he was completely stock too (1.8T).
