Where did my coolant go?!

This morning, got into the car, started it and "coolant" warning comes up in the cluster. Thinking, last night was fine, no problems.
I pop the hood and wow, the coolant tank is completely empty. Pull the car back a bit and there's the good old red stuff on the ground.
Has it been common for B6's to lose coolant? I hope it's just possibly a cracked/loose hose somewhere, though a visual inspection everything seems fine. Possible radiator is cracked (extreme case probably)? Everything is pretty dry in the engine bay around the coolant tank...
Obviously I didn't drive the car to work, just in the garage now. Called the service advisor but hasn't gotten back to me. If I get coolant and put it in and it leaks out, I'm assuming they'll have to tow the car to the dealer, ugh.

First time the coolant light came on, I refilled with water (figured only 299 of the 300 point CPO inspection was done).
Came on again a week later. Took to the shop and was advised no to drive it. May be a common issue as the tech pretty much zeroed in on the leak.
The tech found a seal or o-ring on the back side of the head was leaking. I guess it leaked enough to lower the level but not enough to make a mess.
I had noticed the sweet smell of coolant earlier.

I was leaking coolant, turned out to be some seal or gasket. It took them 4 days to fix, (had to order parts) and they had to completely disassemble the front end

said it may be the back of the head area where it's leaking, like you said.
Don't have time to take it in due to classes and work so gonna have Audi Roadside tow it in tonight.

I was there for over an HOUR waiting for the porter to get back with the key in his pocket.
I went home and got my spare.
My dinner was cold when I got home.

driver just came by and picked up the A4. On it's way to the dealer now. Looking at the ground, it doesn't seem like much coolant leaked out at all and while the car was on the flatbed, the underneath was pretty dry as well...strange.
