Default Seen it before in a Jetta... If anything besides G12 is used..brown sludge results.

The "Safe for all colors" antifreeze is a nono.
And is NOT safe for Audi's.

I have always used nothing but Pentosin G12.
After 164K miles on my 1.8T TT (with 2 timing belts and coolant changeouts),the overflow tank was still completely clear.

Default Blast that reservior out so the stuff floats out the filler hole, rather than down the radiator.

or take it out and clean it seperately. I think the garden hose shot backwards through the lower rad hose is pretty helpfull.

Default I can't stand dirty coolent reservoirs. ...

I suggest removing the tank as part of the process to flush the system, and use about two cups straight Castrol Super Clean poured inside the tank and about one cup of clean crushed pea size gravel, plug the hose ports, and tighten the cap, then shake the tank vigorously the gravel/super clean will clean the inside like new. A non caustic detergent will help remove the brown crud from the radiator and cooling jackets, several flush repeats may be needed. Super Clean is very aggressive, so use goggles and gloves to handle it.

That's bull****. Total speculation. I use Mercedes coolant, crystal clear. Dexcool, same as G-12.

Default from Bentley --

Never mix G 12 with other coolant additives.

If fluid in expansion tank is brown, G 012 A8 D has been mixed with a different type of coolant. In this case, flush out cooling system and replace coolant. To flush out, fill cooling system with clean water and allow engine to run for approx. 2 minutes. This should remove virtually all the old coolant.

Default Too bad they choose to ignore facts and/or blame the customer. Audi's own G-12 Plus "mixes" w/others

or so they claim. It's just 100% untrue and misleading. Do we really need to go into MOTOR Magazine article, coolant mfg or radiator mfg assn recommendation of Dexcool (compatible) being indicated for top-off or full replacement of G-12? I have a baby food jar with 5 different coolants mixed, clear as a bell. I thought the story was: mixed coolants jell, not that it rusts....funny how mixing is the ONLY way the coolant will rust. That is just plain retarded. Having it in Bentley print is partly ignorant and a way to put the blame onto the customer. Dexcool/G-12 actually "jells" when mixed with air....a leaky system...which the customer might have topped-off....with omg, something other than dealer coolant and they blame the customer.

Dexcool is the same thing as G-12. Fact.
