Why does the passenger side headlight should aim higher than the drivers?

Why does the passenger side headlight should aim higher than the drivers?

Default The driver side is lower to help with oncoming drivers visibility.

The passenger side is higher to see street signs

Default lights are aimed almost parallel. so the step-up..

of the left light is to the left, the step-up of the right light is to the right. you see the two steps in the beam pattern. for a real easy test, cover one of the lamps with a blanket!
