It does, but only works up to 25mph or so. Unless you are in snow, it's hard to notice

Default As an owner of both B5 and B6.....

The B5 was horrible in the snow compared to the B6. Would spin the tires and just sit there like an old camaro. There has to be SOME traction or the B5 electronics can't figure it out. The B6 works MUCH better.

Default Actually on Quattro cars it works (EDL) up to 50 mph. Because to me it's an annoyance...

I took steps to permanently disable it.

Default Shouldn't ABS brake the spining wheel causing power to go to the other wheels?

I'm very disturbed by this video. (going on a skii trip this weekend) Could this happen to me on a icy road?

Also, am I thinking correctly to use the hand brake to reduce wheel spin to get out? Was the guys ABS not working?

Default I'm pretty sure that EDL only works 'side-to-side' on the same axle, so...

with one axle on rollers & both wheels spinning at the same speed, EDL is unlikely to be activated. So, the TorSen centre diff will not be able to deliver enough torque to the front axle to drag the car off the rollers. IIRC, there was another video there that had an Audi with two wheels on the left side on rollers. That car was able to pull itself off the rollers, indicating that EDL was working.
