Why are so many people obsessed with the K04?

The OEM clutch and brakes may work, but for how long and how well? You need to approach it as a complete package. I think too many just consider throwing this larger K04 in there and that's it. Going from 170hp to 235hp, 245hp, or 260hp, is a significant jump and requires some additional improvements as mentioned. I can feel the weakness of the OEM clutch and brakes even more now with just my MTM Stage 2 upgrade. If I wanted to just destroy the OEM clutch because I knew I would be getting an aftermarket one, that's one thing. But if I was serious about increasing the power in my car to those numbers, I would also be serious about upgrading the brakes and clutch to work with it, either before, or at the same time as the turbo upgrade.
I'm upgrading those parts (brakes and clutch) before I go any further then the MTM Stage 2 (thinking MTM Stage 4). An FMIC will also be another item to add, along with a better (true) CAI.

really hard for anyone to get 'excited' about GT28RS when APR has been 'working on it' for over 14 months and Eurocodes seems to have abandoned it for an even bigger turbo.
when/if the bigger kits come out they will be the new hype.
