i've taken my car to my dealership and they cant reproduce the problem. Apparently they ran it through a bunch of tests and found nothing wrong with the start and immbolizer.
I can never start my car on first try. however it always starts after i take my key and re enter it into the ignition.
Any ideas why this would be happening? My warranity is expiring soon so I want this fix asap

then held it there for a few seconds and then engine cranked and started. Otherwise, it would not start. Would only happen when cold too. Once car was warm no issues.
They had to keep the car overnight so they could reproduce the problem. Eventually they ended up reprogramming my keys and immobilizer. They had to replace the chips in the fob too as they were not sending a strong signal to allow engine to start.

Sorry, this is a 2003A4, 1.8T automatic
They reproduced the problem a long time ago and re programmed my chip. That didnt help though.
I think it happens more during cold weather.
Is there anyway I can convince them to replace the imbolizer chip?
BTW, I love the quick response here.. thanks guys!
