Am I the only one disturbed by the new Audi front end look on recent showcars? It is supposedly called the "Shield" look, but I have seen it described as the "Bigmouth"
The A4 could be facelifted in 2005 or 2006. I love the A4 it is a beautiful car. I doubt the bigmouth would improve it.
This new front end look has been bugging me for some time...It reminded me of something, but I could not put a name on it. But I have found it. It should be called the "Edsel" look

Two things are certain:
- some people won't like whatever comes next.
- some people will.
For my part, I think that Audi has implemented the new treatment better on some show cars than others. At the very least, it's got more differentiation than the current, highly refined look which is somewhat similar to the front end of a few other cars. I like the idea of Audi having a more distinct visual identity, and I hope they get it right when they make the switch.

Like all Acuras, Hondas, Mazdas, many Toyotas and Fords...and Mercedes. The new VW Golf is also getting a smiling grille. And this goes with over-the-fenders headlights and pointy front ends.
Some psychologists must have decided that people like smiling cars.
Audis are already much different. They have a blunt nose. They are not smiling. They look purposeful. The gaping mouth could be out of proportion with the rest of the car.
