Will keeping the emergency plastic key inside the car defeat the purpose of the imobilizer?

I have always hid the little key inside the car in case I go swimming, was thinking maybe not such a good idea.

Bad idea.

If you loose your key, and the plastic key is inside the LOCKED car, what's the point?

i thought the plastic key was for the glove

it will unlock the doors, doubt it works on the ignition. i keep mine in my wallet

P.Key works everywhere 'cept glove box, rear seat locks & trunk. Keeps peering valet guys...

out of where they don't belong.
