today, drivers side window stopped working and is not rolling up. in the morning, i heard some abnormal cranks and now it does not go up at all.

i have 54.5k miles (do not have extended warranty). is this a known defect because i know that this is a known defect with Volkswagens.

I am going to take it to the dealer in the morning, but do i have any options? Can this be covered at all?

Also, since i am >50k miles, what are my option of getting extended warranty purchased??!! please advise!! thanks!

sounds like the window regulator clip which attaches to the window itself

i called up audi. they will charge $105 just to diagnose the problem and then tell me how much it will cost. my lease is almost up in 3 months. what do you guys suggest I do since i am not covered under warranty any more.

If this is a regulator problem, is it possible for me to get the window shut without opening up the door?

DIY if you can, otherwise bit the bullet and get it fixed (at the dealer or indy shop)
