Default windshield problems-seems like a lot of us have had our windshields replaced beacause of ...

deep scratches...and some of you are saying it was a result of faulty wiper blade spoilers or blades...and some have said that dealers may not replace the glass if they think it's just dirt/grit/sand doing this....is there no fix to this problem ?....is "soft glass" the problem ?...i need answers please before ordering my 2004 A4....

thanks in advance !

Default I have lots of tiny scraches too and I tried the most intensive kind of fix (m)

Cerium Oxide with Felt pad on a drill

Most scratches didnt come out and the nonscratched glass got tiny swirls....I wouldn't recommend it at all. The milder treatments are basically strong cleaners that do almost nothing

Sorry

Default Worst windshield scratching I ever saw (very soft glass), rediculous!! Someone here said ....

it's recycled glass. I wipe the blades off every morning and still get a scratch or two each week. Never seen anything like it! Forget using an ice scraper in the winter...disaster to the windshield.

Default I have read that this system works well

but it probably won't make too much of a difference if the scratches are too deep.

I've been meaning to order myself some of this stuff to test it but just haven't gotten around to it.

These windshields are weak!<ul><li><a href="https://www.janvil.com/repair_systems.htm">JANVIL HERE</a></li></ul>

Default Soft glass is the issue. Mercedes suffers from this too.

If I recall correctly, it has something to do with the way it shatters in an accident.

If the car looks like it is new, clean and well cared for - and has deep scratches - most dealers will consider replacing the glass.
