Windshield stress cracks? Anyone had this problem? More...

Wondering if this is common and whether to approach my dealer or just go to the insuance co. Thanks in advance.

I had a stress crack that was actually found by the dealer, they recognized that it wasn't caused by impact so they replaced it under warranty. It was located the lower part of the windshield on the driver's side.

Some may be stress cracks, and there is another condition - thwacking the wiper blades back down on

the glass. A known problem and no-no at the dealerships.

I posted this problem before, going to replace it next week.

It is fully covered if there is no sign of impact.
