Default is this your first winter doing that, or have you done it before, and if so, how was it in the snow?

Also, how much did you pay. I was pretty set on going the 15/16" wheel route with a dedicated snow tire, but now I'm thinking it might be easier to just throw on a 17" snow tire on my sport wheels (and probably easier on my bank account).

Default total cost for tires was 500 bucks from tirerack.

friend of mine did this with his a4 last winter with his sport rims. Drove it in the snow, absolutely loved it.. Just as good as 15s or 16s..

Default : Planning on changing to winter mode this week

taking off the 17" sport wheels and running dedicated 16" Nokian Hakka 2 for the winter. Figure it would save mounting and balancing $$ every time I changed for the season. Plus I"m a litte concerned about potholes with the 17". Also gives me the winter to clean them up!
