Default Winter Tires

I recently purchased a 2004 A4 1.8T here in Denver, and it came with the all season performance tires. The mechanic at the dealership recommended I put on snow tires for the winter, and since it is quickly approaching, I have been looking for proper tires. I have only found high performance and all season performance tires, but nothing specifically for snow. Is the all season tire the snow tire? I am thinking the mechanic didn't realize that these are the tires that came with the car.

Default all seasons = all seasons so they will work for snow as well

if the snow goes to higher than level 4/5 anyway, the roads will be closed so no1 can go anywhere. All-seasons means all seasons. Your tires are the "jack of all seasons, but an ace of none". you can use it 365 days in the year and you should be fine.

if you're still looking for straight winter tires, check out www.tirerack.com and check the winter section to get a full overview of winter tires. i highly doubt you need winter though...

Default Unless you live in backwoods of Montana, I'm with him ^^^ Save your money

If you had high performance summer tires on your car then I would most definately be swapping them out for some all-season or dedicated winter tire this winter.

I swap my summer only tires out with Conti CH95 all-seasons in the winter.

Default I myself run Dunlop Winter Sport M2...

They sure are better than all seasons, question is if you need them. On the one hand, I say you can never be too safe, on the other, it is a fair bit of money while what you have is adequate.

Default Briddgestone Blizzaks worked great; better than Nokian Haakapellita

This in hilly Steelertown area. Have switched to 15" Audi wheels w/ 195/65X15 tires for snows (narrower better for snow).

Default I second the call on the Blizzaks..

I live in Syracuse NY, which averages easily 130 inches of snow/year.. So we get alot of snow

I put Blizzaks on my A4q, and it night and day vs all-seasons..
