I have a 2002 1.8TQ5M Ming Blue - Just found this listing off of Craigslist in Boston. "SET OF 4 MILLE MIGLIA 1000 16"X7.0" WHEELS WITH BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK LM-22 WINTER TIRES. WHEEL IN OK CONDITION SOME MINOR PAINT PEEL OFF ON WHEELS. TIRES ARE IN GREAT CONDTION WITH 90% TREAD LEFT. TIRES SIZE ARE 205/55/16. $450" Wanted to make sure these fit and if they are a good deal. I've never had winter tires before. When should I put them on. Do I need to get them balanaced? (I'm a noob when it comes to tires
Also, these wheels are better than my current set up, the 15"s stock that came with the car when I bought it CPO (don't know why anyone would get those wheels). Also the Pirelli P-6's are almost bald, so I am holding out for the snow tires. Then I plan on upgrading in the Spring to OEM 17"s and new rubber.
Thanks in advance!<ul><li><a href="http://boston.craigslist.org/car/99351578.html">Listing</a></li></ul>

If it's 5x112/off of an a4/a6 or Passat, they should fit.
Shouldn't need balancing as they are already mounted up.
The price seems ok.
You might consider putting snows on your fifteens this fall and spending your money on nice 17's or 18's this spring.

I ran all-seasons last winter (first winter with the car - Goodyear Eagle RS-A's), and won't ever do that again. I just picked up a used set of Blizzak LM-22's from a guy selling them here in Denver, and have heard great things about them. They look like they're in great condition, so I'm excited about this winter...

let me guess...did you pickup the Blizzak's from Craigslist? I saw a set of 235/45/R17 on there a couple weeks ago.
Since Denver has more dry days than snow days, I picked up a set of Nokian WR's. The only all season tire with an extreme winter rating.

Yes: 235/45/R17's. I don't do tons of in town driving (usually to work and home, and then here and there for errands, church, and a few other things). I drive up to the mountains most weekends (Winter Park / Tabernash) and they don't do alot of snow plowing where I go. I'll certainly consider the Nokian's after these are done - I've heard they're a great tire...

After the season, I'll let you know how the Nokians worked out. Like you, most of my weekend driving is up to Winter Park and Copper Mtn. I was really close to picking up the Blizzak's but didn't want too soft of a tire for my dry pavement commutes. Hopefully the Nokians won't leave me stranded.
If you see a dolphin a4 stranded on Berthoud Pass, you'll know that the Nokians didn't cut it. Ha!

Even with snow tires, this is only my second winter driving in snow - tires are probably good, but with someone like me who doesn't know the snow too well, could still be a bad thing. I'm in a Dolphin as well, so I guess it'd be hard to miss each other...
