Default wiper motor broken

i have a '02 a4 1.8cyl. i just got back from the dealership and they said i need a new motor for the wiper fluid to work. the wipers move fine, but i guess to get the fluid to spit out it needs a new motor? now, i'm a girl in my 20's who knows nothing about cars...are they just trying to screw me out of $$ here? of does the wiper fluid really do need a motor? and if so, could i just replace the part myself instead of the dealership screwing me over? i'd really appreciate any advice i can get on this. thanks!!

Default Re: wiper motor broken

I dont think its the wiper motor. I thinks its just the pump. Find out how much the part is and get it put in somewhere else. Mine failed as well while the car was still under warranty.

Default Alternatively you can try an independent shop specializing in Audi cars in your area.

Check with the local forum for recommendations.

Default I had my wiper motor recently replaced - when it went, the blades would not move but

washer fluid was still coming out fine. So, I don't think its your motor.

Default Hold up. I bet you it's the fuse. You have to replace the 25amp fuse with the 30amp.

Someone please stfa and post up which fuse # it is.
