Not quite skipping, but screeching.

they shouldn't require a window treatment to work right though

Does depend on the condition of the glass though (and that's mostly an environmental factor)

Default mine don't skip, but

they smear really bad and the driver's side clicks loudly when it reverses direction. Most annoying.

Default I just try to keep the windshield as clean as possible and check the weather report

when rain is expected - I redo a good coat of rainx. After that, don't really need the wipers to be on at all. However, most of the rain storms out here in California aren't very serious.

Default Clean the windshield with a clay bar or glass polishing compound.,,more ..

Also, keep the wiper blades clean by wiping the edge with a washer fluid soaked rag until the rag wipes fairly clean. Repeat as required.

Default I have skipping on my B7. Got worse w/ new blades. I use Rain-X.

I'm thinking of taking a clay bar to the windshield and cleaning my blades, too. If that works I won't use the treatment anymore.

Rain-X is destructive to just about everything except glass.

thanks.....I wash this car religiously though, each time I do I clean the wiper blades...the blades aren't streaking, they're actually bouncing across the window....looks like they stick, bounce, stick, bounce.....anyone else seen this?

Default Ya mine do that now

I'm pretty sure I have some tar or oil filmed onto the windshield that is causing it. Try the clay bar/glass polish, that's my next planned step
