I bought the older kit by mistake (Non-evolution) for $99 at Simoncells.com. Feature-wise from what I've read they don't seem terribly different, though the controls are sleeker with the new kit.

I like the controls not to stand out. That's the main reason I didn't do with the 3100, is because I didn't want that big screen dealyo in my car.

I agree - Even with their top of the line CK3300 with GPS, there's still no way to hide that eye-sore of a display it comes with. Too bad they don't make a non-display GPS version...
I'm still trying to decide on the best way to "blend in" the remote from the CK3000. I may try and cut it into that piece near the light **** (like people have done with their mute buttons, but ultimately I'd much rather find a simpler solution that maintains the "stock" look.

You'll need the 10-pin connector from the dealer to plug into the back of the radio (part #357 035 447B). And you will need 2 wires with connector pins to go into the connector (part #000 979 133).
<<<
I called the dealer and the parts aren't in stock...
They said it'd be $21 for the connector and $8 each for the pins. Are these Audi specific parts or do you think I can pick these up elsewhere (since I'd have to wait for the dealer to get them in stock anyhow)...perhaps a VW dealer? Parts store?
Thanks,
Jeffrey

I found same deal by me, they didn't stock the part.
I rigged mine without the part. I'm good at rigging stuff though. ;-)

So I'd probably be okay just picking up the three connector wires and just holding them in place with some electrical tape?
~$50 seems a bit excessive for about $0.03 worth of plastic and metal. That would end up being a 1/3rd of the entire costs.

connectors on the back of the radio. I think if you get the wires you will want the block. Yeah that cost is crazy.
I already had the block, so I was able to wedge my wires in there. The right way to do it would to be to get the parts. I'm not a patient person when I already had the kit all ready to go, so I decided to rig it up. I was going to consider soldering them on there, but I didn't have to.
It works, so I'm happy. ;-)
