Default woohoo! Scored some HP2 calipers. Got questions..

Has anyone undone the two bolts so you can "split" them in half? Would make the cleaning/painting of the outside half easier.

I'm thinking of using the EBC dash-slot rotors.

As for pads, maybe those PBR ultimates or metal masters. Don't want any noise out of these. City driving only. Or should I just get OEM.

Does the brake splash guard I have on my 3.0 work with the HP2's, or do I have to get new ones?

Default .....

I assume the splash guard will work, but you may have to bend it out some so that the lil flange doesnt rub on the larger rotors.

Also i think there is no harm in breaking the caliper down into 2 pieces. Just make sure you Tighten them back up real well...maybe even some locktite. But this is coming from general knowledge, i've never touched the HP2's

Default Why yes you can. Then you can paint 100% of visible surface.

Default Nice. So just undo those 2 big 12 point bolts and it slide apart?

Anything delicate about that big center boot or what's underneath it? Any tips?

Any idea what size tool tip fits those big bolts?

What paint did you use? Clearcoat? How's it holding up?

Default Taking them apart may be a waste of time. Just some good degreasing, firm brush and repeat as

Default Damn, that's beauty. Just what I want to do to mine. And you didn't take those apart?

Did you remove the rattle spring clip?
I see it attached to that bracket with the torx on the side. Does it slide enough you can get a S type torx in there? I really want to take mine apart. Just don't know if it's a pain to rejoin them.

Default Nice job then. I've got the G2 kit on the way in black. Did you buy new

bleeders and hard lines?
Also, did the existing splash guard work the HP2's?
