Would I have to resurface my rear rotors when swapping to new pads, car has 9K miles.

Without resurfacing, I've gone thru 3 sets of pads in the rear before replacing rotors, and 4 sets of pads in the front.
The only exception would be if the rotors are badly scored for some reason. In that case, I'd probably replace the rotors rather than having them resurfaced. The rotors are normally replaced only when they exceed 2mm wear.

is unnecessary. I'd at least let the old oem pads die a natural death and put the new set on later.
