would like my fogs to run independent of my headlights. i understand its a "VAGCOM" what is that...
and where can i have it done. i ve heard of quite a few "vag" mods is there a list somewhere i can look at. i would also like my windows to go down with the remote.

Only if you have a 2002
If you have greater than 2002 the only thing you can do is enable DRL's then you fogs will be one everytime your start your car, and you can not turn them off.
I don't understand why people want to do this, but that's your answer.

go to your local forum IE if you live in Oregon or Washington, go to the Pacific Northwest section..
then ask for local people that have a vag com and if they will show you how it works by performing some VagCom mods, then, if it's something that interests you, you can pick them up for a couple hundred bucks roughly. They are a handy tool to help you diagnose problems with your car. Oh and make sure to offer beer to the person showing you what it does and how to do it. It's common currency.

you need to find someone with the vag-com software/cable....
or you can ask your dealership nicely, assuming you bought your car from them. The dealership can do the windows and locks but I doubt they'll do the fogs.
Also, you have to have a 2002 to have independent "control" of the fogs. You can have the fogs on with the parking lights ALL the time but that can get annoying after time.

i have had my fogs on as DRL's - Candian setting, for two years...
and I have only changed my bulbs once, to Hoens, and they still work. Fogs and parking lights, as well as rear, come on everytime the car starts, day and night. Its a cool look, all day. Shuts off with car as well. Works well. And in those two years of running the bulbs nonstop, i have gone over 70,000 miles.
