it's a total scam. VW does the same thing...
there is nothing special or different. You go in and they give you nothing for your trade and you have to do all the full bargaining on a new one. Just like always. It's a disguised scam.

Marketing tactic, yes. Scam? I don't think so...
How is it a scam? They are clearly trying to drum up business, so where is the deception? If someone is dumb enough to walk in thinking they're getting a new car for free, they deserve to be "scammed".
