Well, I just tossed a nav unit in last weekend, cd based, and haven't put a CAN box in yet, so the can high and can low to the DIS isn't connected, that might be part of it since the problem started about the same time. I don't know.
While I'm on the subject of little gripes, I've got a relay clicking under the driver's side of the dash every 17 seconds too

stock exhaust at the moment, yes.

no pinging, and at the rate that the F'er is throwing fuel down, I can't imagine it can go lean.
I haven't been watching, but I'd be surprised if it's not puffing black smoke under boost.

if you care, you can adjust via VAG to 115% of normal and get it closer, but it will still be a little off
