but I'm a very opinionated person, and if someone posts a comment on something that intrests me I'm definitley going to respond. Apparently people are far too easily offended.

There were some things better on the B5 than the B6. Also some things you would expect to be far better in a new model aren't really much better. The handling and power aren't what they should be on the B6. The B6 is far too heavy to have 170HP. I feel that the suspension is too soft on the B6 and I have the sports package. It also seems like the relability is no better either.
Yet, the B6 has a better interior, stiffer body, slightly bigger, etc..
He does have a right to his opinion, don't take it personally it is a car, not a personal attack.

I think the B5 A4 is plain looking and I hated the way it drove. But I wouldn't just sh*t all over it because I know a lot of people own the car here and have pride in it. Despite what I think, I still have respect for the car.

in that price range. Yes, it is possible to get a B5 S4 to go faster than a new one, for the same money, by the simple virtue of the turbo tuning that is available for the older one. Despite this fact, it is also true that the B6 has a *much* better stock powerplant, better transmission, and a bit more space.
That said, tell me what you would get for about 50k that you would be happy with in stock form.

Perhaps the M3, which seems to be a more track worthy sports/luxo car. If used cars are options here, the 996 would be at the very top. Space/AWD/lots of luxury are not necessities for me, and not something that I look for in a 50k car, so I would open the doors to cars like the Z06 (you can't beat the performance for the price) and even an EVO (360 whp for 5k! and I would probably enjoy it stock).
The S4 to me is like an All Season tire, it does a bunch of things well, but it doesn't excel at anything.
