Default wow! i had no idea that adding more power steering fluid would result in smoother steering!

the fluid level had been reading "min" for quite a while, so finally went down to NAPA and picked up some Pentosin CHF 11S. i added it last night and this morning felt a noticeable difference during my morning commute!

btw -- why does the p/s fluid seem to disappear on Audi's? i've never seen a puddle in my garage, so where is it going?

Default it's leaking somewhere, maybe in the steering rack boots, thats why i use M1 ATF

much better fluid than pentosin

Default d'oh! i posted a while back about which fluid, and everyone was saying to use Pentosin

the M1 ATF would've been much cheaper! oh well...

as for the leak, wouldn't it eventually drip on the ground even if it did leak into the boots? the low fluid level has been an on-going issue since i bought the car 5 years ago!

Can you add M1 to the existing fluid if it's something else?

As a temp fix, yes....won't be a problem. A full changeover is more desirable.

Default ...but an old system could use some extra flushing. You guys do a proper flush, right?

Disconnecting the hoses is the way to go. I'd want 2 quarts to get it done right.

Default Thanks. I'm planning to drain from the reservoir using a tube. Seems less

messy than disconnecting hoses in tight spaces.
