It sounds like it's coming from up front and it only happens during the first bite of the brakes. It doesn't happen every time when braking in a straight line. Though if I go to a parking lot and do slow "donuts" I can get it to happen every single time I touch the brakes. I'm going to pull the wheels and look for any loose hardware on the calipers. I also thought about inspecting the CV joints since it seems to be related to turning. Any other ideas?

a little caliper grease in the right spots usually solved it. Try lightly braking while going over the bumps that cause your noise. I'll bet you the problem goes away.
