Default Xenon auto-leveling error

Hello guys,

I've bought used A4 1.8T (2002), which had original xenon lights replaced with halogens by previous owner.

I'm therefore constantly having Xenon auto-leveling error in the display, which I would really like to get rid of. Obviously the computer complains because it is not able to communicate with xenons, but it also thinks they're still installed (both leveling sensors are still there).

Is there any way (besides installing xenon lights back in) to fix this error?

Your help is much appreciated.
Matej

PS: We already set the lights option to "xenon off" with VAG software, but it did not help.

Default Use a VAG-COM to tell the system that you have halogens...

Send me an email and I write down what to do once you have the VAG-COM. It's really simple, but I need to verify the exact steps to be sure I get it right first.

Default Re: Use a VAG-COM to tell the system that you have halogens...

Hello,

thanks for the advice, but we have already told
the system it's halogens installed now with
VAG-COM (sounded like a logical solution

However, the xenon auto-leveling error is still
present.

Did you actually try this with your car and it
worked? Or are you just thinking it should fix
the problem?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again,
Matej

Default I haven't checked; but maybe you can disable Module 55 which is...

the Xenon Range control and gets part of its input from the level sensor on the a-arm. For that matter maybe you could remove the level sensor altogether, I can't think of anything else it controls on the A4; but check that out beforehand.
