Default just a small correction on your post regarding aftermarket parts sold by Audi...

I remember reading a post regarding an aftermarket exhaust that is sold in the Audi Collections that still is not covered under warranty even if installed by an Audi dealership.

Basically, no warranty is worth its spit unless you have it written on paper.

Since the aftermarket exhaust has no listed warranty, there is no implied warranty as well. Sounds stupid doesn't it? Now do you see why we all want AoA support for aftermarket parts like Dinan? *sigh*

Default You can buy MTM tuned A4s, RS6s, (etc.) directly from Audi...

but not in the US. They are only approved for sale in Europe.

Default Boy, I think that would be an easy one to defend.

Not doubting that didn't happen to someone, but even Jackie Childs could win that case -- unless it's expressly written that it IS void at time of purchase.

Default Yup, and ABT if I recall correctly. And VW-approved Oettingers.

But those were warrantied and approved by the local importers. i.e. the Oettinger were in the French market. I think the ABT's are/were offered by Audi UK.

Default And isn't BMW's approval somewhat tacit? Dinan has its own warranty to back what BMW won't.

A better example is AMG -- what we really want is quattro GmBh stuff over the counter.

IIRC, at least one or two tuners has explored doing what Dinan is. Problem is underwriting the warranties and the potential market of knuckleheads like us who will pay for it.

Audi is also starting to say that track time voids everything (like Subaru). But it's tough to defend when they openly sponsor ACNA memberships.
