Mine are chrome, Tgr_Clw's are matte... you could get away with either...
you don't have the trim around the windows like I have on my 3.0. That is what pushed me toward the chrome ones. That said you still have chrome rings up front, in the headlights, and the grille surround.
It really is just personal preference.
I say 3.0 = chrome mirrors
1.8t = matte/chrome mirrors

Well the S4 mirrors are pretty much in between the matte and chrome mirrors :)
Not that that helps. Matte finish is more like the Satin finish of the "RS" mirrors. The "S" mirrors are brushed which is more like chrome, but not exactly.
