Default ah, sorry. I didnt read the turbo you were referencing correctly. I have no experience with it...

what do you know about it? Sounds interesting. Have you seen one in action? What tuning and fuel did it work with? Thanks.

Default Lol we talked about this a lot already but I'll give you my opinion again

I would do a K04. If I really wanted more power, I would just trade up to an S4.

The question you really need to ask yourself is how much power do you want and how much money are you willing to spend. You can run a K04, good software, injectors, exhaust, DSMIC or upgraded SMIC, stock clutch (for a while at least) and get away with B5 S4 or B6 S4 brakes. It will give you a decent amount of power and make for a quick daily driver. Or you can go all out and do a BT (with or without a built motor), internals, upgraded clutch, BBK, FMIC, exhaust, fueling, etc etc. You'll have a better power band, but have more lag (than a K04) and have a few more problems. Its up to you

But yeah, I vote for K04. Just enough power for around town driving, and the power band is suited for that. You don't need to go crazy with accessories or anything either.

does the GTRS need an adapter plate and bigger injectors than what the k04 requires?

Default I was replying to the sarcasm that you are saying its better. common misconeception is its worse

But the fact remains its running similar AF at idle and part throttle, the volume of the engine doesn't change which means that as long as you are not in it fuel economy will not change.

If it went up or down slightly that has to do with tuning and not the turbo that is on the car.

not arguing yours didn't go up.. just clearing up the silly idea that it should go down..

Default It comes with a cast housing that fits the BW flange. It will require larger injectors...

than most of the k04 ones out there. Options for this are are atp fueling/tuning kits and the Revo fueling/tuning kits for them. Lots of people are enjoying the Revo stuff and I have a buddy/neighbor who has the new ATP/Mika stuff and loves it also (it logged out perfectly too).

Default I am shocked you're getting such great mileage. Nice work Sir. And yes...

"Something to consider is the cost of a K04 compared to the next size up if all of the supporting equipment is the same."

I need to do some more research about prices and performance etc. of the GT series turbos. I see an Excel grid in my future.

well the only real cost difference is the turbos itself, unless you didn't get a stg4 clutch

Default Glad u brought this up. On the drive in this AM, I made close observation of my RPM levels...

and they were mostly between 2500K and 4500K.

Now some of that is due to me being 5spd manual, but it has me thinking BT now more than the advantages of a K04's low end torque. Realistically, I say I averaged around 3500K.
