Default You can tell from the gauge

My ex-bf told me that if u want to know when ur car is fully warm up. (He has an 98' A6 btw) Just pay attention to the rpm. Right after you start the engine, the rpm stay kinda high, but after like 20~30 seconds, it will drop around 300rpm all of sudden. Then the car is ready to go. The figures might not be exact what I said because he told me that like last year. I hope it is true for all Audi cars.

Default Its true, when its over 1000RPM the car is cold.

Tested it with my Passat, winter time when I would leave the car for about two hours, I would come back the RPM when I would turn on the car would be over a 1000, in the summer it took longer...

Default #1 driving with a CEL for one week isn't good and with autoparts stores checking CEL for free

it really isn't good to drive around with the light on when you don't know why it's on.

Don't waste time at the dealer... get it checked and cleared and watch it be something as simple as a loose gas cap.
