Default does it hesitate?

In D yeah..it moves outta 1st pretty quick...remember it's a 6 speed auto....the real question is are you experiencing the annoying/dangerous "hesitation/lag" thing that consumer reports commented on. I don't mean the usual auto transmission stuff...i mean the punch it and almost get t-boned in an intersection feature....if it's THAT take it in for service. ( and search this forum for previous discussions about it) Others have had stuff done. I just had it in for that and they re-flashed some portion of the controller to something like level D and it is WAY better...if you are simply talking "why is it in second"...well then I have noticed the same thing...so I just stopped looking the the display ;-)

Do you have a quattro or FWD? I asked my dealer about any transmission updates and he said there weren't any for the quattro, only the FWD. Has anyone had their qtip software updated?

Default Quattro

it's a Quattro. Dealer said something about some control module being at level "C" and there being a level "D" available. They can't do it themsleves. they have to jump through hoops with Audi, follow a strict protocol and then finally they get online with Audi in Germany and after some number of steps they flashed it and upgraded it.

It's incredibly better than before. I can actually drive in "D" without fearing for my life. Of course it's still more fun in tip or S mode but at least I don;t worry about my wife and kids taking it in "D" mode
