2.0T Timing Belt Years vs. Miles

I have a 2006 2.0T that I use mostly local driving. Current odometer is 68K, I average only 10K/year. I pulled MIL P2181, seems clear its the thermostat (actually the MIL went away on its own for a few weeks, then came back and stayed on). My question is should I just do timing belt and thermostat service now ? I know Audi changed timing belt mileage to 110K, but the car is approaching 8 years in service. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Continental sets a time criteria as well as mileage. Continental calls it six years at the outside.
