Default 2006 A4 2.0T Quatrro OBD code P0008

Hello, I recently purchased a 2006 A4, I've put about 600 miles on it so far and today the check engine light came on and the code read P0008 which is the camshaft position sensor. Does anyone know how to test if its the sensor thats going bad or if the camshaft has an issue and what I would have to do to correct the issue. Thank you everyone in advance.

I've had a similar code for the longest, P0001. also a camshaft position sensor code. Something about bank 1. I'm not sure what it means but I've had it looked at a million times. Each time each shop only replaces the sensor to clear the code but it comes back and the car runs like absolute **** when its cold outside. Let me know if/when you find out what is causing your code.
