My lease is up on my 2006 Audi A4 Avant 2.0T Manual in 2 months.
The dealer called and said that they could CPO the car for me for $2499 and $395 Dealer and handling fee. This seems really high to me?
Audi warranty is 4/50k. CPO is 6/100k.
What do you all think?
The car has been fantastic. Aside from my 997, this has been my absolute favorite car of all time. I've had no problems with it over the last 3 years and Audi won't bring the new A4 Avant to the states in a manual. Buyout is $19,500 before the CPO.
Has anyone ever had any luck with Audi Financial on negotiating the buyout at the end of the lease?

Best I've seen so far is low interest financing, which is attractive if you would have financed elsewhere anyhow.
BUT, in this market, you have to ask the question again. You never know. As for the CPO, that's at the dealer's discretion. I'd try to land around $2200 and dispose of the "handling fee". They can't be giving Audi more than $1500, the rest is gravy for them...and for doing what? Checking the fluid levels and wiper blades? (I know, they claim to do a lot more, the reality is most of the dealers do very little)

AFS will not negotiate....just call your dealer back and say "If I call another Audi Dealer, will thier deal be the same?" And then listen to the silence.....Your "deal" is with your dealer...stick with them...they have the means to save you money.

The dealer pays a wholesale cost and then marks it up for CPO, thats it.
AFS will not negotiate.
The dealer will drop the price some but your buyout is pretty good. My avant was 22.9k residual and the dealer would give it to me for 24 basically with tax, CpO'd. We decided to go for an 09 though. After the 06 would be paid off it would be 8 years old and time for new car and new car payments so its a wash.
And an 8 year old car wont get you much back.

my brother just negotiated his residual buyout price with the dealer on a 2007 A4 titanium pkg that he had on a 2 yr lease. Residual was 27k - they lowered to 24k. He was within his allowed miles.
Audi financial wouldnt budge but the dealer did do it. They wouldnt cpo it though under these circumstances.

That seems a little high. I've seen 07s coming in off lease I could buy for that. Make sure that CPO cost covers everything the car needs to pass and you pay nothing else.
Cost to run the car through the shop is $318(depending where, but 3 hours) plus parts and labor for installing parts to pass. Then there's the cost of the CPO warranty. Oh and if your lease is coming due before January 5th make sure you get the $1500 of loyalty money to finance through audi financial.
