Hey all,
Has anyone had to replace the turbo bypass valve in a 2007 A4? I am pretty good around the motor, just wanted to know if it was easily accesible... I just had the car at the dealer and they told me mine was bad, then wanted $425 to fix it!

It's a pretty common problem. The recommended upgrade is the newer version that's been coming on all the new 2.0T motors.
Upgraded DV
The valve is bolted to the turbo, and accessible from below it. Just make sure you're working on the car when it's cold!
3 bolts and a small electrical plug and it's free.

$425, nice. Part is about $75, and takes an Audi mechanic 15 min. If you assume dealers charge on average 300% of actual cost, that's about right.
On the other hand ... I did mine at a DIY garage with some help, took me about 2 hrs bc they didnt have right tools. Its easy to see/find, but it was impossible to get my (or their) fingers into the narrow spaces. Finally found the right tools, forgot which but if you know motors you'll figure it out.
