Anyone pay to have the wood trim replaced with Aluminum???

It's listed as a $400 option but the dealer told me that it is not the "brushed aluminum" but regular aluminum trim found on the 2.0

The brushed aluminum is ONLY available with the S-Line option???

Anyone try and get the brushed Aluminum instead?

I like the brushed a lot betetr and for 400 dollars you would think they could that???

Thanks for the feedback...A lot people like the wood trim anyway and it is all ready included in the 3.2 price...but I think the aluminum is more sporty...

beige interior = wood trim
black / gray interior = aluminum trim

i think wood looks bad on black and just ok on gray
i think aluminum looks retarded and out of place on beige

i have a b6 and getting a 3.0 meant wood trim and wood trim only (which is why i have beige interior)

my preference would be black interior with aluminum trim

It's just that the 2 alum. trims are quite different...and 400 bucks I think you should get the s-line alum not the standard alum on the 2.0

<center><img src="http://www.audiusa.com/common/images/2005_int_gallery3_a8sedan_lg.jpg"></center><p>For the B8 A4 I think Audi should take a page out of the A8's playbook regarding the Amaretto leather option (see picture), where the seats, mid-level door panel inserts and armrest color changes but the rest remains black in color.

If the actual leather items change color, but everything else in the interior remains the same color (preferably black) across the board, then not only will this cost Audi less money to manufacture, but will enable both the aluminum and wood trims to look good with all the interior color options, plus it will make the interior look better all on its own, regardless of the trim used.

Except for one thing: with a two tone interior like Audi's amaretto and silver interiors and available by special order only creme beige and graphite interiors, the headliner fabric or hide and door panel insert fabric or hide should match the seats. Ditto the fabric of the seatbelts. Everything else (including the plastic of the seatbelt buckles) should be black or whatever the secondary color of the interior is. On luxury cars or SUVs, I prefer genuine high gloss wood in normal (i.e beiges, browns, reds, burgundys and ambers) colors. On high performance luxury cars or SUVs, I prefer genuine high gloss wood in the normal colors that I mentioned above or genuine carbon fiber in black or grey. On premium and exotic sports cars like Porsche, Ferrari, Lambourghini, genuine Carbon Fiber in black or grey is the only way to go. On non premium sports cars or non premium muscle cars like the 350Z, Chevelle SS, GTO, Torino Cobra, I prefer chrome or light silver brushed or polished aluminum.

To answer your question... I don't believe brushed can be done except on an s-line.

I couldn't disagree more. I have the dark walnut on a ebony interior and IMHO it blows away the brushed alum with ebony interiors I've seen. Couldn't believe it since I normally hate wood -the dealer had to show it to me on an in-stock A4 and I went crazy. Not true of the lighter wood offered, just the dark walnut.

ebony = dark walnut
grey/tan = light wood

the 06's aluminum just doesn't cut it for me. They changed it from previous years and it looks strange. That being said if I had an S4 I'd want carbon fiber. I agree that "aluminum looks retarded and out of place on beige." Different strokes I guess!
