45 et or 35 et?

I'm picking up a 17 inch winter wheel package. My Avant is on sport suspension. I like the B7 rs4 replica's but I am unsure if I should go with the 45 et or the 35et? Which is better...considering performance and appearance?

With the more agressive 35 offset, you will spray more snow and road debris down the sides of the car. You'll also get more snow/ice packed in the wheel wells (a big problem with my A6 last year).
The 10mm difference probably isn't huge, but it's worth noting.

35mm will give you a slightly wider stance. They should, depending on the tires, give you a bit better ice and snow traction. I'm not sure if it's measurable though.
IMO if you don't have mud flaps, stay with the 45mm.
