Default 45 et or 35 et?

I'm picking up a 17 inch winter wheel package. My Avant is on sport suspension. I like the B7 rs4 replica's but I am unsure if I should go with the 45 et or the 35et? Which is better...considering performance and appearance?

35 = pushed out = better appearance (IMO)

Default 35 is better for appearance, but 45 might be better for a winter setup...

With the more agressive 35 offset, you will spray more snow and road debris down the sides of the car. You'll also get more snow/ice packed in the wheel wells (a big problem with my A6 last year).

The 10mm difference probably isn't huge, but it's worth noting.

OEM wheels are ET45 - most aftermarkets are 35 and work fine.

35mm will give you a slightly wider stance. They should, depending on the tires, give you a bit better ice and snow traction. I'm not sure if it's measurable though.
IMO if you don't have mud flaps, stay with the 45mm.
