55,000 mile maintenance
I couldn't find posts about this subject. I am coming up to 55,000 miles. The brakes and oil have been changed recently. Should I bring my $600 to the dealer or could I have it done at my friend's service station (if he can follow the list provided by AoA)?

If you don't need brakes and oil done, then the only 'unique' things on the 55k schedule are spark plugs and air filter. Both are pretty straightforward. The plugs can be done without the special ignition coil puller tool, if you don't do something dumb to wreck the coils.
If the mechanic is good it should be no problem, but if you have any doubts in his ability just bring it to someone familiar with these cars.
