Default A4 B7 2.0T Tiptronic Quattro

Hey guys ! I'm Tom from Australia.
I've had my sedan now for nearly three years and it's easy to say. What an absolute money pit.
Here's a list of what I've done

Timing belt
Timing chain
Timing guides
Vacuum pump
Idler pulley
Alternator
IE pCV plate
Plugs
Coils

034 downpipe (200 cell)
034 stage 2 tune. (no pops and bangs)
034 control arm package
034 front sway bar upgraded links
034 street motor mounts
034 tiptronic street mounts
034 rear sway bar
034 spherical sway bar joints
034 tailshaft centre bearing
New snub mount

Tiptronic fluid and filter changed
New cv joints
New wheel bearings
Rotors
Pads
19" S3 Flower wheels
Michelin PS5
Bilstein B12's (b8 bislteins paired with eibachs)

So basically the entire front end is totally refreshed and brand new.

193,000kms

So the last 12 months I've been on the never ending pursuit of chasing a vibration at idle.

I've conceded that it's my notorious torque converter rocking and knocking and just being a severe piece of snot.

I have a few questions.

Is it worth just converting to manual.
Can I find another tiptronic with less KMs and swap it over.
Can I get a trans from a 3.0tdi and use that?
Do new trans from Audi fix the problem?
Is there any chance that I've installed the 034 trans mounts in corrwctlt. There was only one picture online which I've gone by. Seemed a bit odd.

I've searched so many forums and it's apparent that the tiptronic has been plagued since inception for the vibration. And only one post I've read did the dealership replace the torque converter with great success.

I'm going to take it to a suspension specialist as there's a few creaks and moans that really bug me as well. But I'm out of ideas as to what would be causing severe vibrations. It's winter time now as well. When the air-conditioned is going. The vibrations are horrid

May,
Vibration can be due to stiff motor mounts. Too stiff = vibration up the subframe and into the car. Also, the front snub mount needs to have some play or vibration will be felt. Try loosening the three snub mount nuts the snub mount will self-center. Then snug up the nuts. You may have to repeat this a few times as the motor mounts settle in. See post #4 down the page. Replacing Engine Mounts - DIY notes, tips, and tricks. - AudiWorld Forums

BTW I looked at perhaps replacing the trans mounts but after reading stories on the web regarding vibration I did not replace them. An inspection revealed nothing wrong with the original mounts.
250 k miles now and no issues with the trans mounts. Haya...

Edit Yes I have heard about bad torque converters as well. Sounds like after replacement things go back to normal so it could be the T/C. I have had no such issues with my rig however. Audi may have received a bad batch and you car may have gotten one.
Anyway, please post again with what you find once you get it sorted. Thx.
