Default A4 B7 Avant 2.0T Quattro DSG......DOES IT EXIST??

Can this combination be had? Because I'd sure like one......

Since BMW won't produce a 335 Sport Wagon (which might be a good thing given how much I'm sure it would cost).....this would be a good 2nd option for me after chipping it and a couple of other light mods.

Thanks guys (and gals??)!!!

Default It has never existed. No A4 produced to date has ever had a "DSG".

The upcoming B8 A4 is supposed to have the first longitudinal application of a "DSG" type transmission in the A4 line.

Audi calls DSG "S-tronic".

Up until now, it has been limited to the A3/TT transverse platforms.

S-tronic is not the same as DSG. DSG currently only on transverse engined Audis e.g. A3

That's impossible. You have the Tiptronic. As do I.

Default "S-tronic" is just Audi's brand name for any dual clutch gearbox. VW calls the same thing "DSG".

In the current VW/Audi transverse applications, they are, literally, the same transmission.

When Audi produces the S-tronic for it's new MLP longitudinal cars, it will be a dual clutch gearbox but not the same one as VW's DSG which will still be transverse.

I guess I don't get the difference bet DSG and S-Tronic. All I know is I have paddle shifters.

Default You have the AT6 (six speed Tiptronic) with paddle shifters.

There are only three possible transmissions on any B7 A4.

The 6 speed manual transmission. Standard on all models.

The AT6 6 speed Tiptronic (a conventional, torqueconvertered automatic with a manual shift mode) Available only with Quattro. Depending on MY and option packaging, this may or may not have paddle shifters.

The Multitronic (a Continuously Variable Transmission that also has a manual shift mode with 7 "preset ratios") Available only on FWD.

There is NO (nor has there ever been) DSG/S-tronic transmission option for any B7 A4.
