Air Con not working

Air Con not working
My compressor runs OK but the air inside is not cold. I took it to a technician and he said the compressor is running but its not pumping A/C gas to cool the air. He told me to replace the compressor. Is this the only solution??

I believe our compressors always runs and when cooling isn't needed a bypass valve opens.
I would check the operation of the valve. Also, Audi has had some problems with te fresh air sensor which, when it detects outside air cooler than the car's interior, opens the bypass valve. Mine was replaced because it was opening the valve when it shouldn't have.

One A/C tech told me that there might be a problem with the heat valve. He said all the air was coming from the heat valve. He wanted to bypass or close the heat valve completely. This will mean no heat inside the car. Where can I find the heat valve for the 2001 A4 2.0???
