I was being "cheeky". I've added a winking smiley face to my post to avert future confusion.
I actually got a laugh from his post. Partly because it's funny and partly because it's probably true.
I've known a few people like that.... Ironically most did own BMWs. But at least they owned theirs as opposed to the long term rental agreement that this guy choose. (Lease... Don't get bent out of shape lease drivers)
That's like "Hey, why don't you come to a party at my parent's house, they are gone for the weekend". It may be a nice house, but you're just borrowing it. Same with the car. It may be nice, but you're just borrowing it.
Not to mention that in very few cases is it better financially to lease a car... so of course I'm jealous of his bad financial sense.
