Added window up/down feature via remote keyfob:
Log onto block 46 - Central Convenience
Recode the module with 11900 (Original number +64)
Removed Selective locking (2 clicks to unlock all doors)
Recode the same module with 11896 (Original number - 4)
Remove nagging seatbelt chime
Log onto block 17 - instruments.
Recode with module by subtracting 2 from your current number.
Lows/Fogs, Highs/Fogs
Block 09 Central Electronics
01023 original USA number
01021 Enables High/Fogs, kills amber running lights (flash only)

Pardon my ignorance about Vag Com, but as a new Audi owner, I was unfamiliar with this product until recently. Hopefully you can answer a few questions for me:
-As I already own a laptop, what equipment and software would I need to buy to make this work with a B7? Is it necessary to pay for the software license to use it, or does the download from the Vag Com website allow you to get started without it?
-How easy is it to get codes to make changes? (I would dearly love to turn off that damned seat belt chime, for starters.)
-If a dealer figures out that you've been using it, can it void the warranty?
Thanks in advance.

You'd need the actual interface which is the cable that hooks to your OBDII port in the Audi. The best way to do it is either buy the adapter and then the software is downloadable, or find a friend that has the VAG-COM setup already. Some dealers will do the coding for you, but don't count on it.
I'd recommend just getting your own - they aren't super expensive, and you can do a lot more with the software than just recode modules. You can do monitoring of your engine, look up fault codes, etc. as well.
If you're going to have your Audi for awhile, or have a VW, or are going to have another Audi or VW then it's a good investment.
