Anyone else look into the M-B C-Class before getting an Audi?

Before I decided to go with my 2006 A4 2.0T (Tip) I had considered BMW 325 (too pricey and I don't like the style), Acura TSX (no AWD and too trendy looking) as well as the Mercedes C Class (poor reliability, odd styling, cramped interior, funny ride/handling combination and pricey with AWD). I have seen a number of posts here re: Acura and BMW as alternatives to the A4 - anyone else look into or consider the M-B C Class? I'd be interested in knowing what made you go for the Audi A4. Now that I have my A4 when I see M-B C Class cars they look cheap and I assume the buyer was only going for the name. Just curious what other Audi people think of the M-B alternative and whether it factored into their decision.

Well I had a 99.5 A4 1.8t (with lotsa mods) and went to an '02 c230k coupe with more mods I'd have to say this about MB. They do ride smoother and the RWD is nice, also the engine I had was quite strong (the #s on dyno were as expected unlike my 1.8t).
On the other hand the new 1.8L suprchg sedans are very nice, the finally got it right; nice interior, good herman kardon sound sys, euro spec susp, AMG C32 13.6in rotor cross-drilled 4 piston calier brakes, AMG C32 body kit, etc. BUT, they stop offering free maint. on C class cars....and for the price n power, I decided to comeback to AUDI (B7 2.0TQT)

Same conclusions: spendy for AWD, drab interior...
But the pull toward it was pretty strong, and it is not an unattractive car.
But it ended up third on the list after BMW.

Yeah i looked at the C class, but after i took a test drive it just wasnt the same as an Audi. The audi is a much sportier ride which is what i wanted, and, the C class was just too much on the luxurious side for me. Thats why i went with the 2.0t
